Shortt Stories was born in Northeast Ohio in 2019 out of living rooms, basements, bedrooms, and back rooms of bars, built on community, collaboration, and a deep love for telling honest stories through song. For nearly seven years, we have grown alongside our peers, sharing rough demos, live recordings, and moments captured wherever music could exist. Every step has been shaped by the people who showed up, listened closely, and believed in what we were building.
In 2026, we arrive at a milestone we once only dreamed of: the recording of our very first full-length studio album. This project is not just a recording—it is a celebration of persistence, trust, and shared history. These are songs we have lived with, carried through seasons of change, and refined through countless performances. Now, they will be captured in a way that honors their full depth and spirit.
This live studio recording, held in a historic Northeast Ohio studio and supported by the finest equipment, resources, and technicians our region has to offer, is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME experience for us as a band and for everyone who chooses to be part of it. The audience is not an observer, but a vital presence, sharing energy, breath, and emotion in real time as these songs finally come to life.
Our mission is to create something lasting and honest: a document of who we are, where we come from, and the community that carried us here. This album is a love letter to Cleveland, to Northeast Ohio, and to every person who has ever stood in a room with us and believed that music has the power to connect, heal, and endure.

ABOUT THE BAND
Shortt Stories is a multi genre trio out of Northeast Ohio. Whether virtual or in person, their unique blend of energetic rock, soulful melodies and witty banter have captivated audiences since their inception in 2019. Founded and led by singer/songwriter Rachel Shortt, their music tells timeless stories of joy, love, loss, and the journey of self-discovery. With their heartfelt lyrics, strong weaving harmonies, art punk bass, and powerful instrumentals, Shortt Stories is a must see in the Cleveland indie scene.
