SUMA Sessions: Alex Bevan

Attend a Live Recording Session with Alex Bevan at Historic Suma Recording Studio

Fri, April 18, 2025

Doors 6:30pm • Show 7pm

Suma Recording is located at 5706 Vrooman Rd., Painesville

Join Alex Bevan and Friends in the Studio at Suma Recording on Fri, April 18th!

This is a rare opportunity to experience a real session at a historic recording studio as Alex records songs for his latest project. Unlike the first two Suma Sessions events (which were presented in a concert format), Alex will be focusing on recording and overdubbing for 4 of his original songs. Attendees will have a “fly on the wall” vantage point of the entire process. Alex will also share stories about his long history with the Hamann family, Suma Recording, and writing his album ‘Grand River Lullaby’ while living in a cottage on the property. He will be joined by veteran musicians Tommy Dobec, Leonard DiCosimo, Austin Walkin’ Cane, and Tim Longfellow.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

If the name Alex Bevan means anything to you.. it probably begins with the song “Skinny”… the 1976 Summer Anthem that filled the airwaves of radio station WMMS and brought the Cleveland folksinger’s career into sharp focus “back in the day.” Perhaps too, it might conjure the melody of “The Grand River Lullaby”,  Hearkening back to lost years of innocence and first love in a simpler and more romantic time… a time when the Woodstock Generation found it’s rhythmn in the album oriented rock infused soundtracks that still echo in the rivulets and streams of Spotify and Apple Music delivery systems.

Veteran NEO singer/songwriter Alex Bevan has been picking up his guitar and performing for audiences for over fifty years. He is a troubadour of the journeyman class who brings a fresh perspective and unabashed enthusiasm for storytelling.
