We are happy to offer our extensive collection of vintage tape machines and decades of experience to clients wishing to preserve their tapes and memories. Whether these are sensitive masters from major recording artists or a mysterious box of old tapes from Grandma’s attic, we’re here to help.
SERVICES
DIGITIZATION
Skilled technicians at Suma Recording utilize a combination of rare vintage recording equipment and modern digital technology to carry out the delicate process of tape digitization. Some tapes may suffer from sticky shed syndrome, exposure to moisture and/or mold, and other conditions due to age or improper storage. In these instances, our technicians use processes including cleaning and baking to prepare tapes prior to transfer.

Current owner, Michael Seifert, has over 35 years of personal experience transferring tapes, including ongoing work to restore and preserve the Suma Archives, a collection of over 6,000 master tapes spanning over eight decades.
